Acclimatization diversification extension dept
This department is one of the main departments of the laboratory, which can be called as gateway the laboratory this is because diversified product are introduced by this department and products are also sent and after sale service is given by this department.
This department has three main activities those are Acclimatization, Diversification and Extension.
Acclimatization: Tissue culture plantlets are characterized by poor cuticle development: epi-cuticular wax needs to be formed, abnormal stomatal development and function (either are not properly depressed or do not open and close properly), non- or poorly functional roots & poorly developed photosynthetic system. Accordingly the process of acclimation in-vitro prospected plants will be done on green house by maintaining mechanism of humidity level by fogging, temperature level by fan or pad system, light intensity by thermal screen & adjust water amount by irrigation .
Under this division it has well automated and computerized green house which mainly controls the environmental condition of the green house, external metrological station and watering and furtigation system. It has a corrugated poly carbonate green house with a size of 1.5 ha and which can hold up to 9 mill plantlets at a time
Diversification & Extension: one of a part of the divisions of this department, which is mainly concerned in introducing new species and /or verities are introduced through this division, packaging and delivery of products and provide or facilitate technical support to the customer. This division has its own one green house, Nurseries and Orchards in different locations based on agro ecology requirement of the plant under question.
