MEDIA PREPARATION DEPARTMENT
Media Preparation Department is located at the center of Tigray Biotechnology Center plc. Laboratory and covers to about 2333 square meter. Thus sub divided in to four areas of tasks, namely, Culture Media preparation, Autoclave, Media storage, Primary washing and Secondary washing rooms. It encompasses with a professional senior chemists and equipped instruments which facilitates the preparation of quality culture media with the aid of aseptic procedures, GMP(Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLP(Good laboratory Practices). This department has also strategically important for the organization as it is the hub of the functional departments that coordinates and feeds in supplying the required inputs for the fulfillment of profitability of the company and customer satisfaction accomplished by producing quality media through the use appropriate blending of Machines, skilled Manpower, material and money.
The main activities of the department:
I. Washing rooms:
The wash room is provided with the necessary materials such as large sunk, heaters with circulating hot and cold water so as to facilitate proper cleaning of the used bottles and aseptic materials. It is kept in isolation to protect from dust and air- born contaminates.
II. Culture Media preparation room:
The area where the preparation of Culture media, dispensing and capping is carried leading with following aseptic procedure in order to enhance quality. Culture media comprises water, inorganic components, organic components, hormones, Vitamines, mino acids and gelling agents and others in different optimized concentration proportions related in which plants can be consumed in ex-vitro form or from soil.

III. Autoclave Room:
After the completion of Media preparation, the area at which aseptic preparation of culture media and aseptic materials will be conducted under the control of specified temperature and pressure.
IV. Media storage rooms:
The media storage is designed with appropriate aseptic condition and monitored with the temperature and air conditioners so that it helps the culture media not bear any deformation of the original issue.
